Pearl Harbor Attacked

Zo663. I’m not sure where this in Pearl Harbor under the Japanese attack. I think, we are looking at the Naval Shipyard, I believe that is what we called the Hammer Head Crane. This picture was provided by the Berger Girl’s URL, above.

Zo664. We are looking at the Battleship Row at Ford Island. Left is the bottom hull of the USS Oklahoma and right are the Aiea sugarcane fields, now a sprawling urban area where I’m presently staying. This picture was provided by the Berger Girl’s URL, above.

Zo665. This view is from the Submarine Base and on the other side, across the harbor, left is the Pearl Harbor Naval Station and right, is the Pearl Harbor Shipyard. I was stationed here twice, a few feet from here, at the Submarine Escape Training Tank which was also the Pearl Harbor Diving School when I was stationed here. Zo666. I know what ship that is, it is an ASR, Submarine Rescue Ship. I was stationed on USS Coucal ASR-8, 1975-77 in Pearl Harbor. This is an earlier one. The Four Point Mooring buoys are stored horizontal. On my ship they were more at midships and were stored vertical. On my ship the after boom and the McCann Rescue Chamber were painted Navy haze grey. This picture was provided by the Berger Girl’s URL, above.
