Bob Couttie was an Expat here in Subic Bay; he helped write the story for the film: “Goodbye America”. He was a historian and often was a speaker here for Historical Commemorations. I knew him and had historical conversations with him. And he produced other things and participated in historic educational subjects.
When I heard that he died in 2021, in of all places in Balangiga, I wanted to go there and find his grave. I done it on the 22nd May 2024 and present these pictures.

05a Balangiga,-Incident,-Bells & Bob Couttie 240522. The location of Balangiga for your orientation, it took me 7 hours to drive to Balangiga, coming from Port Allen in the NW of Samar. Samar is the 3rd biggest island in the Philippines.

Believe it or not, I actually got a distant in-law relative in Balangiga, he is a retired teacher but is still helping out teaching, and we met him at the school. His name is Crisologo L. Ramasasa, and he put the history of the Incident on paper and gave me a copy, which I’m holding in hand.

08 Balangiga,-Incident,-Bells & Bob Couttie 240522. The next stop was the grave of Bob Couttie, the Balangiga Tourist Officer, standing in the middle, found a person who was present at the funeral, the person at left, so, off we went. The grave with red tiles is behind our guide!
