#01 picture gives you and overall picture of the Death March Marker Zero Memorial Grounds. The Plaque has been added in recent years and replaced a sign.
#02 picture shows Judy and John Duresky. John Duresky is the researcher of the writing team of the new book “Relentless Hope: A True Story of War and Survival, by David L. Britt” and he sent it to me. The subject of the book was Lt. Britt a Hell Ship passenger on the Oryoku Maru. I have helped him out with some information and John Duresky is sharing almost all his finds with me. Thank you very much, John.
#03 picture, this is the new plaque placed here within a few recent years and it replaced a sign. It may have been in storage or was located at a different location.
#04 picture indicates that this Death March Marker Zero was sponsored by the Filipino-American Memorial Endowment, INC (FAME). There are approximately 112 Death March Markers on the route of the Death March from here in Mariveles to Camp O’Donnell in Capas and all are sponsored by organizations or individuals. About 27 or 28 more Death March Markers are located on the route from Bagac to Pilar, across Bataan.
Across the street is where I found a parking place!
