Corregidor VIP visitors

Zf539. President Clinton apparently visited on the 17th Nov 1994 according to this picture, displayed in the Admin Building on Corregidor. I don’t know what the occasion was. I do know he was in the Philippines again in 1996 for the APEC Meeting in Subic Bay.

Not only ordinary people visit Corregidor, VIPs also like to have a look at this famous place of history. I have come across a few pictures of VIP visits and like to share them.

A Very Special Local Historian Lady

Edna Binkowski is an author, historian, a community activist in matters of history of the Philippines and WWII and has been a long time resident of Bataan. She is present at most history commemoration events on the Luzon Island.

She organized history tours and visits to places like Corregidor. She helped establish the Death March Markers and with local help established a memorial plaque at Limay, Bataan in remembrance of the Filipino Nurses that worked side by side with the American Nurses in Bataan and on Corregidor.

Zf548. Edna Binkowski brought a HIGH LEVEL GROUP to Corregidor the CFR (Committee Foreign Relations) with General Blaine, and some ambassadors of various countries.  Also General David Blackledge of the Desert Storm came along.
