View of the cruise ship Costa Atlantica across the waters of the former Port of Olongapo, then the Naval Base and now the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ). I can’t help it but I have to add the following: In this direction, maybe 200 yards this way from the Costa Atlantica rests another cruise ship on the bottom, sunk in WWII, the Oryoku Maru. It started out from Manila with about 1500 Allied POWs in Japanese hands. When the war was over, less than 200 of those POWs survived, that is why the post-war war criminal trials were necessary!
