Oryoku Maru attacked at Subic Bay from David Metherell
David Metherell posted this picture in this thread on the 3rd July 2014: http://corregidor.proboards.com/thread/1203/hellships-memorial-subic-bay
In the group of Echoes of WWII. It was blocked by Photobucket. It is now stored in Karl’s web page server.
This picture shows the Oryoku Maru attacked by US air planes in Dec. 1944 in the Olongapo Port. This ship with about 1600 U.S. POWs on board was one of the most tragic Hell Ships and very few POWs survived their cruel and inhumane ordeal in Japanese hands!
This is one of the more important WWII images and is not only reposted at the original reply but I post it here again. It symbolizes the tragic WWII and the role Subic Bay and Olongapo played in the conflict.
