Zc693. This is the Naval Station Subic Bay in 1950 from Kalaklan Point. This picture is actually a sad one to me. We can recognize the future Dewey Ave. Before WWII on both sides of that street was the bustling town of Olongapo, praised by many as the best town in the Philippines. It has been moved across the drainage canal and had to be reestablished as a town. I guess the Navy had plans for all this real estate. This picture was provided by Bert Caloud in 2015.

Those mountains in back run north from the town of Dinalupihan to Mt Pinatubo and the mountain range is called Cabusilan. One of my earliest walks was crossing those hills and I got stuck on them for one night, one of my early walking lessons.
