I served in this command twice, the first time in the Philippines and Viet Nam 1970/71, the 2nd time here when it changed the name, 1981/83. I also served in the sister unit HCU-2 in Norfolk and we moved it to Little Creek then, 1969/70. This unit is located now at the entrance of Pearl Harbor and I stopped by as I was on my way to the former Fort Kamehameha to take some pictures.

Ruben Teams is my buddy and fellow Boatswains Mate serving proudly on the USS Belle Grove LSD-2, he was from Texas. It was a good ship and my first one.
