Ze776. This picture is from the 30th Dec. 2008 from our walk up to Sta Rita Mountain and tower. The picture is approximately the same area as the last picture. The gun is long gun, I’m sure before the Navy departed in Nov. 1992.

As to when it was removed and why and where exactly did the gun come from or where it went to, I have no idea. I asked but have been unsuccessful to find out the exact history of the 3 Inch gun on Sta Rita Mountain.

Ze765. This picture is very interesting for several reasons, it is dated 1909. USMC Officer Ellis reports that the C.A.C. is exploding a mine in the channel to Subic Bay between Grande Island and the Redondo Peninsular. C.A.C. stands foe US Army Coast Artillery Corps, so they were on the island already and are starting up, building the new US Army Fort Wint on Grande Island.
