I bought this book at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center book and souvenir shop, I found it fascinating that two out of three Japanese-Americans on Niihau took the side of the landed Japanese Pilot. I read and heard about the Niihau incident! As a German immigrant I wonder about this subject of aliens helping the invading force of the same nationality. We know many Japanese Americans and also German and Italian Americans were held in custody in the US because of that fear. Living in the Philippines, aware of the WWII history there and I have read many times in books about Japanese Filipinos became Japanese Imperial Officer or served the Japanese Occupying Forces in other ways. I’m wondering!

Zo226. This is the actual gate to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, part of the Pearl Harbor National Memorial. Study the URLs above as how to get a free ticket to the USS Arizona Memorial. When I did it, it went this way; the gate opens at 7am, I arrived at 6:45am and was 3rd in line. The tickets are time slotted; I received a 1st boat ticket for 7:30 am. The Pearl Harbor Visitor Center grounds are free and there is a lot to see.
