Battery Grubbs visited by VFW Post 11447, Feb. 2026

LAS17 picture shows the bridge which leads to Battery Grubbs gun control station at the rear of the battery, it was much damaged during WWII.

Battery Grubbs was a 10 Inch Gun Battery in Fort Mills on Corregidor. I enjoy visiting this battery because ist entrance looks like a European Fortress and one has nice views to the ocean and Mariveles Town. It has a Subic Bay connection because it was also one of only two 10 Inch gun batteries in the Philippines; the other one was in Fort Wint on Grande Island. These pictures were shot by comrade L. LAS07 to LAS11 pictures show views from Battery Grubbs and we see Monja Island and Mariveles Town. In the past when people could stay on Corregidor over night people came here to enjoy sun sets. It seems the trees and bushes growing in front of the battery are beginning to block the views, perhaps they should get a haircut.
