I shot this picture to compare it with a WWII picture that has become important to me. I am at the back of the Palm Tree Resort, the next place is Mangos, and most of you should remember that popular place with us Sailors. We are looking south along the Barretto Beach. I had a reason to shoot this picture which will become clear with the next picture.
Mangos Resort, it is now under Aussie management, it has more rooms and a dive center. Those coconut trees are the rear of the iCove Hotel. The owner is the Arlene Money Changer where most of us GIs go to change money. The Islander Girls and Little Wheel Bars used to stand there and we conducted our annual Beach Bash there.
